"Time Changes” Faculty Concert - Sunday, July 22 @ 7:30pm
A tradition that began at Rhythm Explosion 2005, we offer a concert at the beginning of the 6 day workshop that features the creative voices and bodies of all of our faculty, plus additional musicians, in a playful evening of jazz interaction, The concert kicks off the week-long exploration of our theme this year, “Time Changes.”
Tickets are $20. or $15. for seniors and students, and $10. for children under 12.
TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE STARTING JULY 19 AT THE EMERSON CULTURAL CENTER.

What an exciting opportunity we have this year in bringing Tap Master Jimmy Slyde to spend the week with us. Along with dropping in and out of classes throughout the week, he will be featured at 3 specific events.

Lunchtime Talks – Mon. & Wed. 7/24 & 26 @1:15pm Jimmy, joined by Sarah Petronio, will be on hand to share stories, dances, videos and insights. We’ll have a catered meal available that you can reserve ahead of time.

"Roots" Workshop
This year we have added a special 4-day workshop to kick off the festival with Drumming and Capoeira classes. Master drummer Michael Spiro will be joined by Kenneth Metzker Jair Pereira to set the week up with a strong rhythmic foundation. Joining the faculty will be our band-in residence, direct from Miami, Florida - Lanzallamas Monofonica. They will offer clinics as well as performances. “Spirit of Montana”Events
An added feature this year will be 3 events that bring a bit of the beautiful Montana outdoors into the workshop experience.

Canyon Hike will take place on Tue. 7/24, early am and will coincide with and include that day’s “Playing” Jazz class. We will be back in time for the 10:15 technique classes. Rides will be organized up to Hylite Canyon where we’ll hike to a magnificent waterfall. |

Swing around the Campfire will take place on Wed. evening @9pm. We’ll sing and swing to a variety of groves around a big campfire under the stars. |

Yellowstone River Rafting will be available for those wanting to extend the workshop an extra day and float down the Yellowstone River on Sat. 7/28. Details and prices for this event will be available soon. |

Performance/Dance Party
This lively event will bring our dancing week to a close on Fri. 7/27 evening @7:30. Student will perform work created during the week as well as additional pieces submitted to showcase. A live band will encourage our happy feet to keep on dancing! Family and friends are invited.
